
Lynn Canyon is similar to the more famous Capilano Canyon, with a high suspension bridge, waterfalls, and interesting trails, but it's free and open year-round. [Note: the suspension bridge is closed from Oct 1 to Dec 31 2025 for repairs]

Imagine a 2.5 km stair climb through a lush rainforest. This is for the physically fit, and it's tough, but the payoff is awesome. At the top you get amazing views, cold beer, and a comfortable gondola ride down. Try it and you'll see why locals by the thousand love "The Grind". Summer only.

Anyone can enjoy Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver, with easy trails through giant trees and amazing views. Highly recommended, and accessible by transit.

You don't have to be a regular cyclist to enjoy this easy 10 km ride around Stanley Park on a rented bike. The views are spectacular and you get to see parts of the park you don't see by car. Lots of bike rentals near the park on West Georgia St or in English Bay.

The Seabus is a commuter vessel from Downtown Vancouver to the North Shore. But it's also a 10-minute, inexpensive boat cruise! All it costs is a transit ticket, and when you get to Lonsday Quay on the north end you'll find lots to do and eat in the public market there.

Golden Ears Provincial Park is an hour's drive away, but if you have a chance it's a great day trip. There is a free but mandatory booking a day in advance to drive into the park. Gold Creek is a crystal clear creek surrounded by mountain peaks with great swimming holes, and if you hike upstream for about 1 km there is a beautiful waterfall.
